Phototrain

Another passion page for me to explore my geek tendencies, in this case, my photogeekness. This image is of the lead singer/guitarist for Whiplash. If I had a choice there would not have been a microphone boom slicing through the picture ... but what the hey! When it's spontaneous and live, you sometimes just use what you get.

Saturday night's shindig at the LMC garnered over 260 images. If they're on stage they like being photographed. That statement turned out to be proven true. Even standing 4 feet away with tripod and camera, flash exploding in their face, the stage inhabitants seemed to regard it all as inoccuous. I think, in the grand scheme of things, that is an example of things just working out right for everybody.

This Friday Bob Egan, the multi-instrumentalist keyboard player from Blue Rodeo, will be doing a solo act at the LMC. Better get some tickets. And better show up real early and get a good seat for Phototrain purposes. That's expecting that at least one of the shots turn out good. Who knows maybe I'll be able to get a few that turn out "really" good. It's surprising how sometimes everything comes together the way I hope, the universe unfolds the way I would like it to and, before I know it, I'm able to harvest 5 or 6 "really good" shots out of 10 or 15. Obviously that doesn't happen often enough.

Well, this is the inaugural post here at Phototrain. I hope I enjoy this one and the rest.

Hey, just going through some of your archives here...

Man, aren't you right - it would be great if one could get 5 or 6 "keepers" out of 10 or 15 shots! Alas, I have a long way to go for that.

I guess that's part of the fun, though. I never know exactly what I'm going to "get" when I take a picture.

Hi G: A long way for me too!

Have you been taking photos for a long time or was Jeju-do the catalyst?
