Thank You, Shawn Matthews

It is with deep sadness that I recently learned of Shawn Matthews passing. Shawn was the creator of Korea Life Blog. He was also the author of the book pictured above as well as Island Of Fantasy, which chronicles his early days in Korea.

Shawn influenced, helped and advised, many people with regards to Korea and Asia. His kindness and generousity will long be remembered.

The above photo shows Hyunhee-si holding one of Shawn's books. When I posted this photo to Korea-bound, it came to Shawn's attention and he sent me an e-mail.

Shawn posted this photo to KLB and also linked Korea-bound to KLB. That link from KLB has been responsible for the majority of Korea-bounds' thousands off hits. Shawn's kindness has endeared him to many.

Shawn's talent was always obvious, thick or thin. He was well known for his kindness to animals.

My deepest sympathy to his mother Cynthia, sister Michelle, and her daughter Sierra. To all his family and friends. And, of course, to the thousands like me, who gained so much from Shawn sharing his life through his websites and books.
